Committee

The Committee is made up of parents / whanau / caregivers and a Teacher Representative who support the daily operation and administration of the Kindergarten.

Formal meetings are held at the Kindergarten once a term, we welcome all new parents to join our fun committee and we usually have nibbles and drinks at the meeting. Committee and staff social outings occur once to twice a year and are lots of fun.

Informal meetings are held as required.

Additional support is provided by the staff and Kindergarten Association.

An induction programme and handbook helps new members in positions of responsibility to understand their roles.

   Profile Books

At Huntly kindergarten we develop individual profile books for each child to record their educational and developmental progress as it happens.

Each child's profile book will include examples of the children's learning commonly called learning stories, which are documented by the qualified teachers, the children, their parents and whanau. These will have photographs and examples of the childrens art work that reflect examples of their evolving learning through child initiated play.

Parents / Whanau / Caregivers are welcome to view their child's profile book at any time and take them home to share with family members. The teachers encourage and support parents, children and their whanau to give comments on their learning and to include learning stories from home in the boxes provided on most learning stories to cement the partnership between kindergarten and home.
