About Us

Huntly Kindergarten is a Community based Early Childhood Education Centre where children are immersed in a Child Initiated Resource Rich programme.

The Children at Huntly Kindergarten are provided with activities to explore Mathmatics and literacy
throughout the curriculum.

How much does Kindergarten cost?

Our kindergarten provides up to the government funded maximum of 20 FREE HOURS of Early Childhood Education for children aged 3 and 4 years old.

If your child is only 2 years of age or attends for more than the 20 Free Hours we do charge a fee.

Kindergarten staff can advise you about the current fee rate and assist you to apply for a Work and Income Childcare Subsidy if you are in work or training.

Fees are invoiced weekly, you may pay by automatic payment through your bank account, eftpos, internet banking, by cheque or cash.

screen printing

With teacher support the children at Huntly Kindergarten learn there is a process to follow when participating in activities like screen printing or baking.

20 Free Hours
The 20 Free Hours funding is a big help for families and means kindergartens have enough income to provide great educational resources and meet most day-to-day operational costs.

However we still need to meet the cost of providing a service for children aged 2 years and all the hours over the 20 Free for 3 and 4 year olds.

Unlike schools, the funding received from government does not meet all the costs of running a kindergarten. It only covers teacher salaries, compliance costs, some profesional development for staff and limited building maintenance.

WINZ - Please remember that Winz subsidies are available, if you would like more information about these subsidies, please see Viv.
