Children's Art

There are many sequences children will go through during the development of art.

The earliest form is the scribble, lateral, vertical lines, circles and radials.

These first stages are very important, as they are the basis for later drawing and writing.

As they develop their skills they add details to their figures such as arms, legs and faces.

Through practice they master the grip and control over their paintbrush.

At Huntly Kindergarten the children are encouraged to use their magnetic name to help write the letters of their name on all their artwork.

Children go through many stages of art development, essential to gaining literacy skills.

Art comes in many different forms.

using different art media.

Children work alone,

alongside their peers,

or in small groups.
